Mission Statement

Four years ago, Hall Neighborhood House added The Performing Arts to its list of beneficial community services. Since then, the Performing Arts have developed at rapid speed providing growth through arts education to Bridgeport families. With focuses on creativity, education, and expansion arts, HNH is able to service the community in a progressive and effective manner through the arts.

It is the sincere pleasure of Hall Neighborhood House to service Bridgeport through a fine arts education. We have a well-built enthusiasm for artistic instruction. More recent studies are showing how a multidisciplinary arts education can increase a child's self regulation and academic performance. It is our belief that the Arts can inspire and boost confidence in all children.

Our staff consists of seasoned professionals who have experience with all age groups in teaching, coaching, and mentoring. Classes focus on, performance quality, artistic discipline, technique and fun!


Description

Located in the eastern part of the city of Bridgeport, CT, Hall Neighborhood House (HNH) has been committed to building strong families for more than a century. This commitment is facilitated in the community through education, economic development, social service, and alliance with community organizations. Bridgeport is the largest city in Connecticut, with an estimated population of 143,900. Though situated in affluent Fairfield County, Bridgeport's poverty rate stands far above the national median at 18 percent.

Hall Neighborhood House provides numerous programs that allow the agency to service the needs of the community beyond most other social service organizations. One of HNH's largest services is Day Care, which services a large part of the city's population. Ella Jackson Senior Center provides an avenue for senior members of the community to socialize daily through activities such as exercising, educational workshops, and meals. The Smart Start College Preparatory Program focuses on motivating and empowering youth through building social and academic skills.
