Children of Afghanistan Hope Project is a non-profit organization striving to educate the neglected orphans, children, and women of Afghanistan.
Children of Afghanistan Hope Project (CAHP) operates two schools with a combined enrollment of 189 students and employs seven teachers. Since 2005, CAHP has improved the lives of hundreds of orphans, young girls, and widows in impoverished parts in Afghanistan that is outside the reach of most international aid.
CAHP started as a student organization by second-generation youth living in California’s San Francisco Bay Area. It was founded on the belief that education is the key to success for the reconstruction of Afghanistan.
CAHP’s volunteer staff and members believe that the lack of an education in Afghanistan remains the root cause of many of itspersistent problems. CAHP believes that educating Afghanistan’s youth is the strongest force yet for Afghanistan to surmount its many challenges. By providing the basic educational tools and vocational skills to eager students, CAHP gives hope to a future day when Afghanistan again establishes itself as a self-sustaining country. In its mission, CAHP recognizes the dreams of a new generation of Afghan children who have dreams of becoming teachers, doctors, engineers, and future leaders.
