Mission Statement
SUNCLF seeks to build community support for the protection, restoration, and conservation of the Red Cliffs and Beaver Dam Wash National Conservation Areas
Description
SUNCLF is dedicated to protecting and enhancing Washington County's National Conservation Lands. In 2009, the Omnibus Public Lands Act designated Beaver Dam Wash and Red Cliffs National Conservation Areas. These areas were set aside for special protections for their wealth of cultural and heritage artifacts, biological diversity, and unparalleled scenery.
These lands are part of the National Conservation Lands System, the newest collection of permanently protected lands in the US. The National Conservation Lands are "Landscapes of the American Spirit" some of the last truly wild places in our country. SUNCLF members and volunteers have the opportunity to take part in site and trail stewardship, restoration and preservation projects, and engage in fascinating educational opportunities.
