The upstate NY CMT (Charcot-Marie-Tooth) group provides support, resources and information for those living with CMT. We are action-oriented (community awareness, education, fundraising), sponsored by the CMTA.

Description

The CMTA is a 501(C)(3)nonprofit organization founded in 1983 whose goals are patient support, public education, promotion of research and ultimately the treatment and cure of CMT. A voluntary Board of Directors governs the CMTA. The Medical Advisory Board of the CMTA consists of over 50 clinical and research medical professionals. This international group of men and women are noted CMT experts in neurology, genetics, orthopedic surgery, physiatry, physical therapy and podiatry.

The CMTA currently has more than 15,000 patients and families, supportive friends, and medical professionals in its database.

Description

The Upstate NY CMT Support & Action Group was started in April 2010 to offer support, resources and information for those living with CMT, as well as their families and caregivers. Also, to let others know about the CMTA's promising research initiative- STAR (Strategy to Accelerate Research).

We meet every other month on Saturday at 10:30-12:30 at the East Greenbush library at 10 Community Way, East Greenbush, NY
