Mission Statement

ClassNotes aims to introduce American students to classical music through school workshops integrating chamber music into the academic curriculum, and to initiate a broader campaign to assimilate classical music into contemporary American culture. Furthermore, the teachers in this organization are young professional musicians of the highest caliber who are at the beginnings of an international career, providing invaluable teaching and performing experience for young artists.

Description

ClassNotes offers a one week residency or a one-day workshop at public schools. During the week residency, classnotes musicians work with teachers to develop unique curriculums connecting a chamber music program with the academic subjects the students are currently learning. The workshop focuses more on interactive games and exercises developed to help students explore the emotional and creative possibilities of music. ClassNotes is in its infancy. As of now, our musicians have volunteered their time in schools or been compensated under the auspices of other music schools, but we are ready to branch out on our own and become an independent organization. We are incorporated as a non-profit and are currently in the process of filing the irs 1023 form. Mostly we are in need of a financial and accounting advisor to help us set up a system of fiscal management.
