Mission Statement

The CYC mission is to maintain an environment, comprised of facilities, staff, and volunteers that guarantee young individuals a chance to develop and grow in athletics, academics, and life. Deliver this service with a high level of encouragement, support, structure and discipline, in a safe, rewarding and positive manner.

Description

The Community Youth Center's Academic Excellence (AE) program is designed to augment our members current studies. Our instructors and volunteers are on site Monday through Friday, ready willing and able to assist students with their educational needs. AE does not hold classes, develop or deliver curriculum. AE does provide a state of the art classroom which includes:


Daily professional instruction

State of the art computers and software

Color and black and white printing

Internet access

A quiet, safe and controlled environment

Appropriate furniture for students of all ages

Materials for study, research and homework

Scheduling which allows for sport and study

The CYC is designed to attract young athletes and offer them a place to train. Once involved in our programs we help them balance their educational and sport activities by providing an environment suitable for educational activities. We stress the importance of education on a consistent and supportive basis.
