Mission Statement

All breeds have their own particular needs and rescued pets have special requirements as well, very often in want of medical care, often lacking nourishment and kindness, and often expensive to rehabilitate. Because we have had Boston Terriers of our own for several years, we are familiar with their habits, peculiarities and their special needs.

We operate from the Maryville/Alcoa/ Knoxville areas of East Tennessee under the auspices of the National Boston Terrier Rescue mission but cover the state of Tennessee, Eastern Kentucky, Southwestern Virginia and Western North Carolina with the help of our Representatives and Foster Homes. We share information and resources throughout all of the Southeast and Midwest USA with affiliated Boston Rescue shelters and independent shelters, rescues and friends.

We will not refuse any dog for rescue, regardless of age, background or medical condition.

Description

The Boston Terrier Rescue of East Tennessee is a Non-Profit, Tax Exempt Organization recognized under section 501(c)(3) of the United States Federal Income Tax Code.

We were organized October 1, 2004 and maintain an IRS Public Charity Status under section 170(b)(1)(A)(vi). Our EIN for Tax Exempt purposes is 20-1687694. Contributions made to us under section 170 are deductible to the contributor.

We are state sales and use tax exempt as follows:

- By the Tennessee Department of Revenue as a S&U EXEMPT Account, Account No. 780172538

We are also licensed as a Rescue Shelter with the State of Georgia under a collaboration agreement with the Boston Terrier Rescue of Alabama, Inc. Our License Number is A05-0439

The Boston Terrier Rescue of East Tennessee, also dba Boston Terrier Rescue of Maryville and Alcoa Tennessee is an affiliate of the Boston Terrier Rescue Network and a Chartered Rescue in the State of Tennessee.

We are a small, focused rescue with representatives and foster homes in Tennessee, western North Carolina, southwestern Virginia and northern Georgia. We work very hard at finding good forever homes for these little dogs.
