Mission Statement

The Folk Arts Center of New England exists to encourage an appreciation of and participation in the traditional folk arts of many cultures: dance, music, crafts. It will publicize, perform, exhibit, and teach these traditional forms and foster their development in today's culture and act in cooperation with other groups or individuals with similar aims.

Description

The Folk Arts Center of New England is a 30 year old, small non-profit organization based in Melrose MA. We sponsor 2 weekly international folk dance meetings a week, in Watertown and Arlington MA, several monthly music and dance events, and several annual dance and music camps in New England. We publish a bimonthly listing of dance events in the Boston area called "Folk Dancing Round Boston" as well as a quarterly newsletter.
