Description

FITI is the outgrowth of the vision of its founder. During a visit to Sierra Leone in the summer of 2004, he concluded that there existed a need for more effective application of information technology in government, education and business in Sierra Leone. He concluded that there existed a paucity of training in areas such as systems administration/management and maintenance, second, that there existed the potential for job creation through promoting the hiring of information technology (IT) professionals trained in institutions in-country, and finally, that information technology possessed considerable potential as a tool for development.
