Description

Vision

The Georgia Center for Nonprofits will be recognized as the authority on the state's community of nonprofit, charitable organizations. The Center will be the first place that nonprofits in Georgia turn to for information and tools that they need to manage and govern effectively. The Center will be the source nonprofits look to when they seek a strong, credible voice on their behalf.

Through a three-tiered delivery system, the Center will provide Georgia nonprofits with a comprehensive set of high quality services and information to meet their needs. Through the use of technology, its special member services and its advocacy program, the Center will serve and support nonprofits in every corner of the state.

In addition, it will develop relationships with regional partners to deliver "high-touch" training, consulting and information services outside the Atlanta area. Finally, the Center will continue its services to nonprofits in the 22-county metropolitan-Atlanta area, home to more than two-thirds of Georgia nonprofits, and will focus on this area to pilot new programs and services.

While providing information, training and consulting to meet the spectrum of nonprofit management needs, the Center will work to increase nonprofits' access to and use of technology to help them become and remain effective in an economy more and more reliant on technology.

The Center will strengthen the sector by cultivating a membership committed to the continuous development of an effective, defined, organized and powerful sector. Through its members, the Center will work toward a stronger sector by improving the management capacity of this growing core of nonprofits.

With leadership from the Center, members will collectively raise standards for all nonprofits in Georgia, provide data and participate in research on the sector, and speak together on issues that affect Georgia's nonprofit, charitable sector.
