Notre Dame Mission Volunteers-AmeriCorps believes that education is the fundamental tool in the struggle of disadvantaged citizens for human dignity, self-esteem, and self-determination. We are committed to helping people help themselves. Our goal is to promote and encourage education, community empowerment and multicultural harmony.

Description

Notre Dame AmeriCorps members work to empower the poor through education and personal hands-on support. Members tutor children, organize after-school programs and teach adults in literacy, GED, and ESL programs.
