Sworn in on January 9, 2011, George Gascn became the first former Chief of Police to ever hold the position District Attorney of the City and County of San Francisco and the first Latino District Attorney in San Francisco's history.

Description

District Attorney George Gascn is dedicated to reducing violent crime, protecting vulnerable victims, creating safer neighborhoods, and combating high school truancy. He frequently partners with community based organizations to provide social services and educational outreach to the members of the San Francisco community.
