Mission Statement

The Food for Kids Backpack Program is a program of the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma, administered in Broken Arrow by the partner agency of Broken Arrow Neighbors/Food for Kids, provides a weekly sack of shelf-stable, nutritious food to children identified by their school as being at risk of hunger over the weekend when free or reduced-cost school breakfasts and lunches are not available.

Description

Volunteers help unload and store food received from the Food Bank, help set up the food for packing by opening shipping boxes, separating food packages into individual units, and recycling cardboard. Volunteers help in the process of packing food sacks for children, lifting boxes to carts, and loading cars with the food boxes.
