Mission Statement

Many ElderWood Senior Care facilities offer separate not-for-profit programs, called Volunteers-in-Partnership (VIP), to offer valuable, life-affirming interaction between residents and the community at large. Today, more than 500 volunteers - affectionately known as "VIPs"- including adults, seniors and students, as well as groups from churches, home bureaus and other organizations, contribute to the volunteer efforts. VIPs make a measurable difference in the lives of residents, contributing time and talent to support the social, emotional and spiritual needs of those in our care.

Description

ElderWood volunteers are a special bunch -
cheerful, capable, involved and,
most significantly, motivated to make
a difference in the lives of residents.
Volunteers add vibrancy to a resident’s day.
Together, volunteers and residents
enjoy smiles and laughter, share
common experiences and learn new things.
Volunteers can provide song, solace,
spirituality and a sense of companionship.
Whether they are teen-aged,
middle aged or retired, volunteers share
something in common.
Almost without fail, ElderWood volunteers
will tell you they get so much more out
of the experience than they give,
in the form of friendships, love and
appreciation they receive from residents.
