Mission Statement

Guitars Not Guns is a five year old non-profit music organization that provides free guitars and free guitar lessons to foster kids, at risk youth, and other deserving children, ages 8-18. No child is turned away for lack of funds. We have several chapters in the state of California and we have a new chapter opening in New Mexico soon. A couple of other states are showing interest also. Check our website to see where we currently have chapters. If you are interested in starting a chapter in your community please contact us, we will help you.

Description

We are always seeking guitarists who will volunteer in our classes to teach kids how to play guitar. We have three teachers per class with 8-10 students. One main teacher teaches the class and the two assistant teachers walk among the students and help them with finger placements, etc. It is very rewarding to teach these kids, our volunteer teachers love it! We also greatly need volunteers to help with grant writing, fund raising projects, etc. If you are interested in Guitars Not Guns contact us, we need you and would love to hear from you.
