Mission Statement

The Iowa Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Program commissions community volunteers to serve as an effective voice in court for abused and neglected children, strengthening efforts to ensure that each child is living in a safe, permanent, and nurturing home.

Description

The CASA program recruits, trains, and supports community volunteers to serve as an effective voice in court for abused and neglected children. A CASA is typically assigned one case at a time and does a variety of things to promote the child's best interests: investigation, assessment, facilitation, monitoring, and advocacy. CASA's are recruited to serve in all 99 Iowa counties.
