Our Mission To be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives. That single purpose drives all we do. The need for our work is beyond question.
The American Heart Association is dedicated to reducing the impact of heart disease and stroke, the No. 1 and No. 4 killers of Americans. The association does this through many avenues, including our Go Red for Women movement, advocacy efforts, Heart Walks, CPR, research, combating childhood obesity, just to name a few.
Volunteers are the foundation of the Heart Association. The organization was founded by volunteers, and today it is the largest volunteer organization fighting heart disease.
