Mission Statement

Global Community Outreach, Inc. is an organization that is founded upon the principle that everyone deserves the human right to education and that where one lives should not determine his or her chance to learn, grow, and be inspired. We strive to raise literacy across the world, while being environmentally sustainable, and to bring people together through education. Our ultimate goal is to create a global community where every child and adult--every man and woman--are given the right to gain knowledge, the opportunity to become motivated, and the chance to have their voices heard. To achieve this dream, we focus on "small" projects in developing communities that have the power to make "big" impacts: giving school supplies to local schools, building libraries, and providing basic resources.

Description

Global Community Outreach Inc. is a Non-Profit 501(c)3. Global Community Outreach Inc. was founded in 2010 by Alex Savelli a student and local to Tampa, Florida. The idea of Global Community Outreach officially came alive upon his return from teaching in Uganda in the summer of 2010. While Alex was teaching in Uganda, he saw that the school he was teaching at only had half of its roof built. Afte ... r helping to finish building the roof for the school, Alex saw another need for school books. Although only a student himself, already pinching pennies to attend college, Alex made the promise to build them a library. He did not have a clue as to how he would go about it, but he knew he would do it. After returning back to Tampa, Florida, Global Community Outreach was born and the idea of a library for the school evolved to the idea of a library for the community.
