Wounded Warriors in Action Foundation

Description

Established in 2007, the Wounded Warriors in Action Foundation (WWIA) is a national 501(c)(3) non-profit organization headquartered in Apollo Beach Florida. The WWIA is dedicated to serving our nation's combat wounded, Purple Heart recipients, by providing world-class outdoor sporting activities.

We take Heroes out on events in small groups in order to foster peer to peer interaction and couple them up with a mentor (a Wounded Warrior proven to be reintrgrated) and then have all of them interact with the communities where events are hosted. This helps the heroes by boosting their morale, blostering their self confidence, giving them like individuals to connect too, and allowing them to feel appreciated by the communities in which they serve, live and visit. All of this is done while giving them the opportunity to experience an outdoor event of a lifetime. Whether it is trying something new, reconnecting with an old hobby, and proving to themsleves that they can still participate no matter what their disabilities, WWIA helps Wounded Warriors on their path to healing.
