Mission Statement

Communities are not solely made up of buildings and grounds, but individuals and families. The NHP Foundation (NHPF), in its preservation of quality affordable housing, strives to empower its residents by providing the skills and programs necessary to break the cycle of poverty. NHPF is working to build partnerships with various government agencies and corporate sponsors to expand and enhance the resident services programs in our communities. Funding for the program comes from multiple sources including NHPF, cash flow generated by the properties, government agencies, and private philanthropic organizations. NHPFâ s Operation Pathways is a multifaceted resident services program, designed to deliver services for children, youth, and families in our properties and the surrounding communities. The programs are broken into 6 Paths: The Pathway to Learning â emphasizes early childhood education support and resources for children ages 3 to 12. The Pathway to Academic Achievement â concentrates on educational achievement and support for youth ages 13 to 18 years. The Pathway to Employment â focuses on training, services, and jobs for youth and adults. The Pathway to Self-Sufficiency â provides referral services for senior citizens, including in-home aides, transportation and emergency energy assistance. The Pathway to Homeownership â provides families with first-time home-buying programs and services. The Pathway to Social Enrichment â provides residents with cultural and sports activities for all ages.
