Description
The Bridge Center offers year round therapeutic horseback riding lessons to children and adults of all abilities. Therapeutic horseback riding provides physical, cognitive, behavioral, social, and emotional benefits to participants. Participants are taught traditional riding skills using adaptive equipment and teaching methods, specially trained horses, and the support of up to three volunteers, in lessons tailored to the unique needs of each participant.
The Bridge Center is proud to offer our Equine Services for Heroes program to all active duty military, veterans, and their immediate family. This program consists of unmounted activities that offer participants the opportunity to learn new life enhancing skills in a group or private setting where they can step out of their comfort zone in a safe and supportive environment. Our programs provide veterans and their families with many benefits that assist them in their recovery and transition back into civilian life. Benefits of our Equine Services for Heroes program include cognitive and emotional benefits such as stress reduction and self-confidence; and physical benefits such as increased endurance.
