Mission Statement

Our mission is to nurture, shape, and train the next wave of Changemakers so that they can not only demonstrate measurable social impact, but also achieve financial sustainability.

Description

The Social Innovators Collective (SIC) was originally designed as a membership organization for dynamic, emerging founders, leaders and individuals who work in the social enterprise and nonprofit sectors both nationally and internationally. We are currently transforming into an online educational platform with offline classes and workshops. Our mission is to nurture, shape, and train the next wave of Changemakers so that they can not only demonstrate measurable social impact, but also achieve financial sustainability.

Since our public launch in October of 2011 we have produced three workshop series on social enterprise and nonprofit business development at General Assembly, workshops and classes for the Social Enterprise Boot Camp, Skillshare’s Penny Conference, Impact Design for Social Change and Parsons Desis Lab. Additionally, we have organized panels of social good industry experts for Social Media Week and created classes for Internet Week. We are currently working with 15 industry experts in the social good space to create guides for Changemakers on subjects ranging from choosing a legal structure to understanding the importance of great design, selecting the right social good business models to putting together an effective fundraising plan.
