Mission Statement

The Hub Theatre endeavors to produce work that highlights our common humanity, provide a theatrical experience that is at once challenging and inclusive. We strive to be the physical center of a dynamic circle of story, art, and community, to create the transcendent exchange unique to live theatre.

Description

The Hub Theatre, founded by Helen Pafumi, Maggie Ulmer, and Marey Oakes became incorporated in Virginia on August 8, 2008 and received 501c3 nonprofit status in May, 2009. Without a home, The Hub grew through a nomadic existence; our first two seasons were performed at various local venues. By Season 3, we became the resident company at the John Swayze Theater in The New School of Northern Virginia. The Hub’s mission is clear--to celebrate our common humanity through the circle of story, art, and community. In 2012, we received three nominations for the prestigious Helen Hayes Awards.
