The mission of the PCAT-LIFE Program is to help the under-served youth and their families to gain independence and self-sufficiency with the ability to read, write and comprehend.

Description

The PCAT-LIFE Program, for the 2013 school year, is excited to be offering our services to twenty identified First Grade Students at Bellamy Elementary School located at 9720 Wilsky Boulevard Tampa, Florida 33615.

These students have been identified by their teachers as reading below grade level and are showing poor academic performance. Most of these students are of Hispanic descent.

We will be offering one to one reading tutoring/ mentoring to these twenty First Grade Students twice per week for 8-12 weeks on Wednesday's and Thursday's begining the week of January 15th.

Many parents speak little or no English. We will be conducting parenting workshops and resources such as English classes, vocational classes, and GED classes for the parents, as well as planned Family Fun Days.
