Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
The mission of the Amore Opera Company is threefold: to produce beloved standard opera repertory in a unique, intimate setting; to provide the next generation of aspiring opera singers with a highly professional training ground for actual opera performances; to involve children in opera, both as performers and audience members.
Amore Opera, now in its 9th season, is the "child" of the world-reknowned Amato Opera that served the New York Community for 61 yeears.
Amore Opera performs 3 full-length fully-orchestrated operas per season. In addition to classic repertoire, Amore is dedicated to premiering one new opera in the US per year. Operas produced have included La Boheme, Tosca, The Magic Flute, The Barber of Seville, The Marriage of Figaro and the US premieres of several Eighteenth and Nineteenth Century operas including I Due Figaro, Das Labyrinth (Magic Flute, part II), Olivo e Pasquale, and La Zingara.
Amore has been very favorably reviewed by the New York Times, Opera News, and other well known media outlets.
Opportunities exist to work with our company in many capacities, from performer/orchestra to technical backstage work and costuming all the way to front of house/ushering positions.
