Mission Statement

Drivers For Survivors provides free transportation service and supportive companionship for ambulatory cancer patients, from suspicious findings through completion of treatments.

This service is provided for ambulatory cancer patients living in Fremont, Newark, Union City, Hayward, San Leandro, San Lorenzo, Castro Valley, Ashland and Cherryland going to all cancer-related medical appointments within a 60-mile radius of ZIP code 94538, freeing them to focus on their health and essential treatment.

Clients under 18 must be accompanied by a adult guardian and all patients must be ambulatory. Our volunteer drivers are background checked and must have a good 5-year driving record to qualify.

We provide companionship along with the transportation.

Would you recommend Drivers For Survivors?

by Zosimo Q. from San Jose, CA (August 3, 2015)
I want to volunteer here at Drivers for Survivor simply because my father is a cancer patient survivor but I didn't have enough information. I also was unable to provide my gas consumption to drive from San Jose to Freemont, Ca.I was only able to volunteer within the area of commitment because of a limited income. With monthly income barely enough.
