Gabriel's Place

Description

Gabriel’s Place is a non-profit organization located on the site of a former church and newly renovated parish hall. These facilities are assets to the neighborhood of Avondale-- a choice neighborhood--because the will be the site of programs that provide access to affordable, fresh produce--beginning in the garden with community plots and continuing into the community kitchen and eventually into the homes of residents who can then supplement their budgets and add whole foods into their families’ diet.

Gabriel’s Place fulfills a niche in a community where nutrition education is desired, as well as practical experiences to encourage behavioral changes in a safe and supportive setting.

As the recipient of the 2011 Most Outstanding Collaboration Award from Community Development Association of Cincinnati, Gabriel’s Place is already a sought-after space for community organizations and as a partner in the initiatives that fall under the health and education goals of the new Avondale Comprehensive Development Corporation.
