to entertain, stimulate, and educate audiences in East Central Indiana and to provide meaningful music experience for professional, community and student musicians through performance of fine music and other activities
Description
Muncie Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1949. The orchestra consists of about 70 musicians: 18% faculty, 52% professional musicians from nearby ochestra and community and 30% students. MSO performs 3 subscription classical concert, 3 pops concerts, a children's concert and 3 subscription chamber concerts in a season. Performances takes place in Emens Auditorium, Sursa Performance Hall, and various other locations in Muncie. MSO also holds an annual Young Artists Competition for middle and high school students and presents 3 outreach ensembles with educational programs at schools, museums, libraries and other locations.
