Mission Statement

Chicagoland Habitat for Humanity (CHFH) is part of Habitat for Humanity International, a network of 2,500 affiliates around the world. CHFH is an umbrella organization supporting eight (8) local affiliates covering the metro Chicago area (City and Suburbs) in a unified approach to serve more families. CHFH formed in 2000 as an alliance of the local Chicago area affiliates to support each other’s efforts through sharing of best practices. In 2010, CHFH reorganized around a new board of directors with both external and affiliate board representation in order to serve more families in need throughout the metro Chicago area.

Description

The Habitat for Humanity organizations strive to work as "one Habitat" to deliver a stronger impact on the housing shortage worldwide. While Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is responsible to each Habitat for Humanity organization for promoting and protecting the good name of "Habitat for Humanity" in support of the Mission, CHFH and its member affiliates collaborate to carry out the Mission and to protect the good name of "Habitat for Humanity" in a manner that increases the number of families served in the Chicago area.
