Mission Statement
Our mission is to work in partnership with local communities to eliminate the causes and conditions of poverty and to promote individual independence and self-sufficiency.
Description
Community Action Partnership of the Greater Dayton Area was established as a nonprofit corporation in December 1964. CAP focuses on all available local, state, private and federal resources for empowering low income individuals and families to obtain the skills, knowledge and opportunities required to become self-sufficient. We have provided opportunities for low income individuals and families to lead more productive lives through advocacy efforts, education, job training, employment and the provision of safe and affordable housing.
Community Action Partnership opened the Youth Empowerment Center in 2006. The center serves youth 7 to 18 in after school programs that promote self awareness and social advancement. The Y.E.C provides a safe place for students to learn and grow to their full potential.
