Club Care is a food program designed to help a vulnerable population of individuals from Campbell, Kenton, and Boone County in KY, to receive food from USDA Commodities and our Choice Food Pantry. Club Care recipients consist of seniors, individuals on a fixed income, and/or individuals who have a disability. These individuals depend on food assistance as a part of their long-term self-sufficiency plan. We are looking for volunteers available on Friday afternoons starting at 1pm, volunteers will pick up a set number of bags to drop off to folks enrolled in Club Care. Bags are picked up from the Brighton Center Community Resource Center at 799 Ann Street in Newport, KY. Routes will be set by staff so that volunteers have an efficient route. Are you looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community? Our Center for Employment Training (CET) is currently seeking volunteers to assist with managing our front desk. As a volunteer, you'll play a crucial role in helping us provide much-needed support to our enrollees. You'll be responsible for answering phones, greeting visitors, maintaining enrollee files and electronic paperwork, providing clerical support to staff, completing data entry, assisting with marketing and outreach events, and distributing flyers. By volunteering with us, you'll gain valuable experience, make new connections, and help us make a positive difference in the lives of others. Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity! CET is a short-term, skill specific workforce development program that is accredited through the Council on Occupational Education. The program readies trainees through educational and employment opportunities for higher levels of self-sufficiency. Training is hands-on, highly individualized, and self-paced. CET does not conduct testing as an enrollment requirement, and offers financial aid-none of our graduates are burdened with student loans from their training. Eligible trainees without a high school diploma can prepare for the GED on-site. CET provides contextual learning, combining four cornerstones of professional development: skill training, career development, success skills, and adult education competencies. Brighton Center’s wide array of supports and resources are available to assist our trainees in overcoming barriers to success. At CET, graduation is a job in one’s field of study, and we support our trainees all along their path towards realizing their hopes and dreams.
