Mission Statement

MDA is a voluntary health agency working to defeat over 40 neuromuscular diseases through programs of worldwide research, comprehensive services, and far-reaching professional and public health education

Description

In Franklin County alone, MDA serves over 400 individuals with one of the 43 neuromuscular diseases we cover. MDA funds a clinic at the Ohio State University Medical Center that provides individuals with comprehensive services including initial diagnosis and follow-up care. MDA provides children between the ages 6 and 21, diagnosed with a neuromuscular disease, a week of MDA sponsored Summer Camp at no cost to their family. Camp for children and young adults in the Columbus area is held at Recreation Unlimited in Ashley, Ohio.
