The mission of the ombudsman program is to improve the quality of life and quality of care for consumers of long-term care including institutional, residential, and community-based services.
The long-term care ombudsmen act to protect the health, safety, welfare and rights of long-term care residents by investigating and resolving complaints, promoting the enforcement of laws and regulations, and educating the public, consumers and providers.
