College Internship Program Information: At NVEEE, part-time and full-time internships are available year-round and can be entirely virtual or hybrid. Students are eligible to receive volunteer, internship, and academic course credits if applicable. Content Writing and Editing Committee Description: We are seeking a dynamic and creative Content Writing and Editing Intern to join our committee. This position is ideal for individuals pursuing a career in writing, journalism, communications, or related fields. The intern will play a crucial role in creating compelling content for our website, ensuring the information is engaging, accurate, and aligns with our brand's voice and vision. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in content creation and editing while contributing to an exciting online project. General responsibilities include but are not limited to: Content Creation: Develop content for our website, including articles and other written materials. Creativity and the ability to capture the essence of our brand in your writing are essential. Editing and Proofreading: Review and edit content produced by the team for clarity, grammatical accuracy, and adherence to our style guide. Attention to detail is crucial in ensuring consistency and quality across all our publications. Research: Conduct thorough research to ensure the content is factual, up-to-date, and resonates with our target audience. Ability to efficiently gather information from credible sources is key. Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including marketing and design teams, to create cohesive and engaging content. Good communication skills and teamwork are essential. SEO Optimization: Apply basic SEO principles to content creation to enhance the visibility of our website. Familiarity with SEO practices is a plus but not required. Content Strategy Input: Assist in developing content strategies that align with our business goals and audience engagement objectives. Qualities needed to be successful on this committee: Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field. Strong writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Basic understanding of SEO principles is advantageous. Students may choose to receive volunteer or academic course credits for the internship. Marketing and Public Relations Committee Description: The Marketing and Public Relations Committee will assist in implementing the marketing components for NVEEE’s strategic plan. Members of this committee must have a commitment to assisting NVEEE in building strong relationships within diverse communities, including ones that have been traditionally under-resourced and under-represented, LGBTQIA+ populations, BIPOC, and beyond. General responsibilities include but are not limited to: Developing strategies to expand marketing efforts through various channels and reach a larger audience. Collaborating with the creative committee to create an annual marketing calendar and social media posting schedule. Creating a database of websites and advertisement services we can utilize to promote our programs and events. Learning about Google Ads and SEO. Collaborating with Creative Services Committee to create marketing materials and social media posts. Planning and writing future content, including monthly newsletters, blogs, social media content, and other ways of raising awareness. Creating recruitment email campaigns for school counselors. Reviewing sponsorship kit to ensure we are delivering promised marketing. Advising and training other committees on brand and messaging standards. Assist in writing press releases for major program announcements. Grant Writing and Research Committee Description: The Grant Writing and Research Committee will collaborate closely with NVEEE’s Executive Director to discuss priorities, identify funding opportunities, assess grant opportunities, and prepare applications and proposals for NVEEE’s youth programs. Members of this committee must have a commitment to uplifting diverse communities, including ones that have been traditionally under-resourced and under-represented, LGBTQIA+ populations, BIPOC, and beyond. Additionally, understanding how financial instability, mental health, trauma, and a lack of support impacts youth development will be extremely helpful. Grant submission topics include but are not limited to: Youth development and engagement Youth leadership Health and Wellness Bullying prevention Suicide prevention Mentoring Crisis intervention Food insecurity General responsibilities include but are not limited to: Providing support for acquiring external funding for NVEEE and its activities and programs. Searching for and identifying potential funding sources. Creating reports analyzing potential grants and progress to keep all committee members and Executive Director informed. Preparing, writing, and submitting the proposal and necessary application materials. Creating an annual grant calendar and updating it with new deadlines. Maintaining a database of previously rewarded and current grant opportunities. What We Do: NVEEE provides interactive educational dialogues and leadership programs that address bullying, mental health, social inequities, and stereotypes and are designed to surface community-based solutions that support the health and well-being of all youth. Student Peace Ambassadors who complete our comprehensive leadership curriculum often co-facilitate our programs. Our dynamic and equity-based programs consistently fill capacity and prepare youth and young adults to be socially responsible leaders. Our mission is to prevent bullying, violence, and suicide among youth, families, and communities through direct service, mentoring, and prevention education. Eligibility: College students with exceptional time management and organizational skills are encouraged to apply to this unique experiential learning opportunity. As an intern for NVEEE, your efforts will support our work in bullying and suicide prevention, youth leadership, LGBTQ+, and other social justice initiatives. What is PALS: The Peace Ambassador Leadership Summit (PALS) is held at several universities and makes a meaningful impact on the lives of young leaders! PALS is a transformative event that fosters leadership skills, promotes peacebuilding, and empowers participants to become agents of positive change in their communities. We have a variety of shifts for you to choose from (you don't have to volunteer every day; only the shifts you choose. Set-up times are typically earlier in the day, and clean-up times are generally the last time available. There are several summits*: June 14-21 at the University of Central Florida June 22-27 at the University of Florida July 13-21 at Florida International University July 25 - August 3 at Georgetown University *You can select your summit availability As a Senior Counselor, you will have essential responsibilities contributing to the summit's success.
