Mission Statement
NatureBridge is dedicated to teaching science and environmental education in nature's classroom to inspire a personal connection to the natural world and responsible actions to sustain it.
Description
We brought our first students to Yosemite National Park in 1971. Forty years later, more than 30,000 K-12 students from more than 600 schools participate in our three- to five-day field science programs each year in Yosemite National Park, Golden Gate National Recreation Area, Olympic National Park, Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area, and Channel Islands National Park.
Our national parks are outdoor laboratories where our young people learn and are inspired to build a more sustainable world. Through environmental education, these places capture the imagination of our students and encourage them to be the stewards of tomorrow. These experiences build self-esteem, knowledge, and critical-thinking skills and empower young people to make a difference.
