Girls on the Run's Mission - To educate and prepare pre-teen girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living.
Girls on the Run is a life-changing character development program to prepare pre-teen girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living. Running is used to inspire and motivate girls, encourage lifelong health and fitness, and build confidence through accomplishment. Our goal is to reduce the likelihood of at-risk activities and give girls the resources to build self-esteem, positive relationships, and make positive choices. We use exercise, positive reinforcement and encouraging role models to provide young girls with the confidence they need in those critical pre-teen years. Our program meets twice per week for 12 weeks and the season culminates with the girls participating in a 5k race. Girls on the Run is a national program with over 100,000 girls participating each year in over 200 councils. Our organization's focus is the Greater Cincinnati region.
