Wildfires are devastating communities across California, causing more than 300,000 people to evacuate their homes and threatening many more. The Camp Fire in Northern California -- one of three blazing across the state -- is the most destructive in state history. We want to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you find access to shelter. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know the most effective ways to contribute.

Vision Statement: The American Legion Auxiliary, Department of Maine, IS a Growing, Proud, Pro-active Organization dedicated to advocating for and meeting the countless needs of our veterans, their families, our community, state, and nation
Mission Statement: Mission Statement In the spirit of service, not self, the mission of the American Legion Auxiliary is to support The American Legion and to honor the sacrifice of those who serve by enhancing the lives of our veterans, military, and their families, both at home and abroad. For God and Country, we advocate for veterans, educate our citizens, mentor youth, and promote patriotism, good citizenship, peace and security.
The American Legion Auxiliary is the world’s largest women’s patriotic service organization. The Auxiliary enjoys nearly 800,000 members organized in more than 9,000 communities nationwide, with approximately 9,00 members organized in 118 local Units within the State of Maine. The beneficiaries of ALA programs include disabled, hospitalized, and homeless veterans; families of military service members deployed to conflict zones; community members across the nation in which Auxiliary units conduct community service projects daily; and our own volunteers and their husbands, parents, siblings, children and other relatives who have served our great nation.
