Mission Statement
The mission of the Medical Arts Academy High School is to graduate students who are academically prepared and motivated for the rigors of college and the fields of mathematics and science.
Description
The Vivien T. Thomas Medical Arts Academy hopes that after mastering a wide range of prerequisite skills, graduates will be ready to enter college or the work force in entry-level careers in science and health. In addition, we intend graduates to have built a knowledge base of ideas, experiences and application through both internships and externships that address their needs and interests. As a result, they will be adept in working both independently and collaboratively. History: Medical Arts Academy started on September 2004 as a breakout school of Southwestern High School #412. The new school was created in a restructuring effort to improve the performance of students previously in #412.Currently, as a new school, our school has the ninth, tenth and eleventh; next year, the twelfth will be added.
