Mission Statement

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in his name without discrimination.

Locally our vision is: To meet people at their point of need through Worship, Fellowship, Recreational and Social Service Programs.

Description

The Salvation Army is called to defend the poor, feed the hungry, comfort the bereaved, heal the sick, clothe the naked, visit the imprisoned, shelter the homeless, care for orphans, provide for widows, strengthen the disabled and the elderly, bind up the wounds of the afflicted, wet the lips of the thirsty, assure justice, and remove stumbling blocks from the paths of those who falter. The Salvation Army believes that meeting human needs and caring for hurting persons in the name of Jesus is a valued expression of the Gospel and a spiritual ministry.

The Salvation Army is a multi-faceted organization. We conduct youth character building and sports programs. Womens ministries, older adult ministries, feeding programs, emergency/disaster services, financial assistance, food box programs, seasonal assistance, visitation programs, and music programs for youth.
