Khmer Kampuchea-Krom Federation (KKF) is a non-profit and non-governmental organization working non-violatly in accordance to the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights advocating for the rights and democracy for the Khmer-Krom people living Kampuchea-Krom (South Vietnam).
The Khmer-Krom people are an indigenous people living in Kampuchea-Krom ever since the first century. The French colonize the territory named "Cochin China" from 1867 until 1949, then ceded the territory to Vietnam without the consent of the Khmer-Krom people. Ever since the domination and lost of territory to Vietnam, the Khmer-Krom people suffered countless horriffic events of human rights violations. They are denied of freedom of speech, religious practice, fare economic benefits, and most importantly denied to preserve their own culture and customs. Tens and thousands have died during the Vietnam War assisting American troops fighting the North Vietnamese communist. And non have received any compensation from the US or Vietnamese government. In fact, they are regard as inexistence according to the Vietnamese and US government. Currently, there are more than 3,000 blind farmers from one provice alone out of the 21 provinces. No supports from the international government are allowed and no support from the Vietnamese government themselves. There are no healthcare facilities to treat even the most basic health check or to care for women's needs. Tens and thousands are homeless and are dying of hunger. Some escape to Cambodia seeking refugees status but denied by the Cambodian government. The Khmer-Krom existence is in question?
