Mission Statement

Change for Kids (CFK) partners with under-resourced elementary schools to create inspiring learning environments, rich with educational opportunities. By providing a broad range of essential programs, CFK enables students to discover their unique strengths and develop the confidence to achieve. Change for Kids believes every student deserves a quality education, and every school needs the proper resources to deliver it.

In high-poverty communities throughout NYC, many students don’t have access to the quality education they need to reach a bright future. 93% of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch. We believe a strong elementary school experience sets students on the path to college and career success. One school at a time, Change for Kids partners with exceptional elementary school leaders in low-income communities throughout NYC to provide targeted leadership, volunteer, and program support.

Through our support, our students are increasingly engaged in school, making strides in academic achievement, and developing 21st Century Skills such as creativity, communication, collaboration and critical thinking.

Change for Kids’ vision is that every CFK student receives a quality education and every CFK school has the resources to deliver it. Our partner schools become sources of pride in under-privileged communities with students poised for long-term success.
