Description

The Animal Haven is a private no-kill shelter where the Greater New Haven community can relinquish orphaned animals for a small donation. The Animal Haven’s number one priority is to match homeless cats and dogs with appropriate families. Our staff carefully fits the pet’s personality with the expectations of the responsible adopter. The Animal Haven has a positive public image in Greater New Haven. There are 1765 members from over 75-CT towns and about 100 members live out of state. The Animal Haven receives no income from town or government sources. All funding comes from private contributions, entry and adoption fees and fund-raisers. Our kind and humane reputation is truly reflected by the community’s continued financial support. For 60 years, the community has literally kept our doors open. The actual percentage of administrative and fund-raising expense for the last three years was less than 1%. No other local shelter has such a distinguished reputation in the area.
