Mission Statement

The City of Dana Point's Nature Interpretive Center (NIC) is an educational, management, and operational facility that provides information about the biology, geology, archeology, and history of the Dana Point Headlands. We share our acquired knowledge with visitors in an informal setting with the hope that they in turn become stewards of their local environment.

Description

In general, volunteer docents assist the Natural Resources Protection Officer and his staff to:

Educate visitiors about the Dana Point Headlands;

Assist visitors in finding their way around the trails-system;

Keep biological open-space trails clean;

Educate visitors about trail use;

and assist with educational programs as needed.
