Mission Statement

Advocates Against Family Violence will work to empower families in crisis by providing a safe, confidential and comforting environment, where all may begin the healing process. We strive to treat everyone with fairness and respect regardless of race, ethnicity, physical ability, age, religion, sexual orientation or circumstance.

Description

Emergency shelter, food and clothing. 24-hour crisis line and peer crisis intervention counseling. Information and referrals for community resources. Advocacy for welfare, legal and medical systems. On-going support groups for survivors of relationship violence. Support group for children. Community education addressing issues of relationship and family violence, by providing speakers for groups and agencies. Continued support for those who have left the shelter and are making a transition into a violence-free lifestyle. Support and services to rape and sexual abuse survivors.
