Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
We help people achieve financial security and pursue economic opportunities.
RDI was formed in 1968 as a non-profit community organization to provide financial counseling and education for Montana consumers. Today, RDI has broadened its approach to helping families become financially secure. In addition to traditional financial counseling and education, we provide programs, develop partnerships and influence policies that move people toward financial security and help them pursue economic opportunities. Financial security and economic opportunities are at the heart of all we do and set forth the guidelines from which we operate. We utilize both direct service programs such as counseling, coaching, and tax preparation as well as indirect strategies such as coalition building, communications, and influence policy to provide the most effective means of achieving our mission.
The MEO AmeriCorps VISTA Project, hosted by Rural Dynamics, Inc. (RDI), focuses on strengthening organizations and programs that bring individuals and communities out of poverty. Our goal is to strengthen three specific objectives within low income communities: improving access to financial literacy, developing transitional plans and/or continuity strategies to keep low income individuals in safe, affordable housing, and to improve employability among under and unemployed Montanans.
AmeriCorps VISTA is the national service program designed specifically to fight poverty. Authorized in 1964 and founded as Volunteers in Service to America in 1965, VISTA was incorporated into the AmeriCorps network of programs in 1993 as a part of the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS).
Tax Help Montana is a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program of Rural Dynamics that provides no-cost tax preparation and electronic filing services to low- and moderate-income individuals and families across Montana and Idaho.
