Mission Statement
Established in 1980, Boat People SOS (BPSOS) is a national community-based organization with branch offices in many states. Its mission is:
To provide relief, assistance, and support to Vietnamese refugees and immigrants in their search for freedom and a dignified life;
To empower, equip and organize Vietnamese-American communities in their progress towards self-sufficiency and integration;
To collaborate with organizations, agencies, and ethnic communities that share similar visions, goals, and values..
Description
Our Raleigh office is currently focused on programs in women's health, English as a second language, computer literacy, financial literacy, and workers safety. We also distribute the Boat People SOS national publication Mach Song locally and assist individuals with translation and citizenship applications. Finally, we are currently working on establishing a Vietnamese Senior Club.
