Mission Statement

Innosight Institute is a not-for-profit, non-partisan think tank whose mission is to apply Harvard Business School Professor Clayton M. Christensen’s theories of disruptive innovation to develop and promote solutions to the most vexing problems in the social sector.

Description

Christensen, Michael B. Horn, and Curtis W. Johnson’s book, Disrupting Class: How Disruptive Innovation Will Change the Way the World Learns , which was published by McGraw-Hill in June of 2008, is the intellectual basis for the Education Practice at Innosight Institute.

Innosight Institute has become a trusted authority in the nascent field of blended learning. As this field continues to evolve, Innosight Institute seeks to inform key stakeholders to allow innovations to best serve students.

As a software engineer, I look for opportunities to get a large impact for the effort that I put in. With Innosight, I see a unique opportunity to affect an entire industry in a very leveraged way. It's a small organization full of passionate and expert people, and it has outsize influence on the education industry. I worked with Innosight as part of the Full Circle Fund [1] to develop an online database of blended learning profiles [2]. I worked primarily with Charity Eyre and Michael Horn. They are both very smart, motivated, and seek to have great impact on the world. If you are a software engineer, I think you should leave your mark with Innosight.
