The American Cancer Society is a nationwide community based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer through research, education, advocacy, and service.

Description

ACS provides services and information to patients all of over Northern Nevada and Idaho, as well as puts on the annual Relay for Life event across the two areas.

I was involved in a Reach to Recovery program in 1972-1975. I went on to teach meditation and visualization to cancer patients in the Palo Alto region. Things have probably gotten much better now. This is a superior organization. Jane February 4 , 2017
