Description

Philipse Manor Hall, a high style Georgian mansion, was the seat of a 52,000 acre estate and home to three generations of the Lords of Philipsburg Manor. Built in stages between 1680 and 1755, it is one of the oldest buildings in Westchester County. After serving as a family home through the middle of the 19th century, the Manor became the Village Hall, later the City Hall, for Yonkers in 1868. Since 1911, it has been a museum of art, architecture, and history. Philipse Manor Hall State Historic Site is a National Historic Landmark, a National Register Site, and an official project of Save Americaâ  s Treasures.
