I really enjoyed the time I spent volunteering with this organization. I appreciated the positive energy of the men and women that work here. The teens seem to find the center as a place of safety and are very comfortable spending time after school here. I looked forward to the time I got to spend helping teen with job resumes and homework, it was a very rewarding experience. Melanie made the volunteering orientation very straight forward, and organized everything very well. I would recommend the Garfield Teen Life Center to anyone!

I have really enjoyed being a volunteer at Garfield Teen Life Center. I have not only been able to help teens but I have learned a lot about teaching and helping others here. It has helped me grow as a person. Melanie is great with volunteers and helping them know what to do and she leads by example. The whole staff at GTLC is great. Thats why I am going back. I highly recommend volunteering here.

Not only did it give me the chance to help others, but it also helped me to grow both professionally and personally. Teriq and Melanie were great and they helped me get well acquainted with the surroundings, it's really a friendly place that would make your volunteering experience worth while. The kids here are smart and friendly, they really are great!

Both Melanie and Tariq have been most helpful in making my experience at Garfield Teen Life Center a positive learning experience. As a RecTech I have been able to gain useful knowledge and skills in teaching and computer use. I would highly recommend volunteering.

The staff at my volunteer location were all very helpful and welcoming. Melanie did a great job explaining the details of what i needed to do in my volunteer position and i never felt out of place or lost. I would definitely recommend Seattle Parks and Recreation/ARC RecTech.

It was so easy to find the perfect volunteer situation to match my skills and goal to gain teaching experience. I had a great personal experience, and Melanie (staff member) went above and beyond what she had to do in order to help me find a place to implement my program. Thank you!
